Bill Blair
Hon. Bill Blair
Member of Parliament for Scarborough Southwest
Recap of the 43rd Parliament
September 2, 2020

2020 has been a challenging year for all Canadians. Here in Scarborough, I know many of you have had to make significant and difficult changes to your lives in response to COVID-19 – but your efforts have allowed us to begin to re-open our economy and our country. As a community, I know we will continue to work hard and do everything we can to keep our friends, family, and neighbours safe.

Although this year has been challenging, our government has been hard at work to keep our Canada and our communities strong. Below are some of the things I’ve worked on in Ottawa in my role as representing my constituents in Scarborough Southwest, and all Canadians in my role as the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness.

To stay connected with my riding, and everyone living in Scarborough Southwest, my staff and I have had to find new ways to communicate with you. In recent months and weeks, I’ve checked in with local businesses via Zoom calls, celebrated multicultural events virtually, and made phone calls to local community leaders. I also took part in the first virtual parliament in our country’s history.

All of us have had to find new ways to connect with our community. Should you need anything from my office, please email [email protected]. I look forward to seeing you back in Scarborough in the near future!
